SKI BOOT DESIGN WHAT- BOOTS DO YOU USE was created by CMAC
Seems that the ski boot design is still the basic engineered 4 buckle system. Some changes have been made to the shell, as in the bottom , but the basic design seems to have stayed the same. One reason I still use 20 year old boots that still work excellent. And because news boots are very high priced. What are your thoughts?

Learned to telemark back in the 90's so I could tour to ski the powder outside of the resort and after 4 or 5 years the bindings for touring really came out of the shadows and at that time I bought AT boots and have used them exclusively for resort and touring. They are basically similar after all these years with the usual 4 buckles, but new plastic for reduced weight and seem to be changing with new modifications each season. Like you I keep a comfortable and dependable boot for many years. At this time I have an old pair of Dynafit 4 bucklers solely for touring and a pair of K2 Mindbenders for resort and side country.

I’m curious about your experience with the Dynafit and K2 Mindbenders.Learned to telemark back in the 90's so I could tour to ski the powder outside of the resort and after 4 or 5 years the bindings for touring really came out of the shadows and at that time I bought AT boots and have used them exclusively for resort and touring. The Mindbenders are one season old now and skied many times and are a good resort and side touring boot. I had hoped to use them for all day touring with two pair of skis that I had with dynafit and G3 bindings, but the toe inserts for the pins are not that compatible for these bindings and take a lot of work to get them to accept those pins. I use them with Marker Barons a frame binding that is heavy but dependable for resort skiing and side touring. I looked at the inserts on an old pair of Scarpas and the Dynafit boots and there's a slight groove in there that I think makes them more easily fit for the pins of those two bindings. Maybe there's a copyright issue.
I had a pair of Scarpa Spirit 4's that worked with all three of those bindings but due to age replaced them with new Scarpa Maestrales that were just not comfortable and very hard to put on and off. I got rid of those and one of the Tayers gave me a pair of Dynafit boots for $25 I don't even know what the model is, but it's a 4 buckle older lightweight boot that works well with my two touring binders, but unfortunately the heel is not designed to fit the Barons where as my old Spirit4 boots fit all three bindings and I had a nice one boot fits all quiver, but now one boot for touring and one for resort/side c. The Dynafit boots work very well and are comfortable and easy on and off. Wish I knew what model they are they are white with orange highlights around the buckles.
