Alpental uphill travel notice was created by AOPP
Greetings,
Winter has arrived for Alpental and the Summit at Snoqualmie. Therefore, starting Friday morning 12/17/2021 the winter uphill travel policy will go into effect at Alpental.
This Friday, you will see large signs posted at multiple locations around the base area. These signs signal that our operational season has begun and uphill travel is NO longer allowed at Alpental until the end of the operation season.
With another storm arriving crews will be at Alpental starting to setup the hill, ski testing the slopes for stability and there will likely be Avalanche Mitigation Activities this weekend. Please stay away from the area and allow crews to do their work.
The up-hill policy has changed this year and there are several notable differences. Uphill travel is no longer allowed at Alpental during the operation season, 12/17/2021 to mid-May 2022. Also an uphill travel pass is now required to ascend any of the Summit areas. Here is the link to the new policy on the Summits web site summitatsnoqualmie.com/uphill-travel-policy. On the website there is information and videos about all the Summit areas and also information specific to Alpental.
As always when traveling uphill within any of the closed summit ski areas please give chair lifts and groomers/machinery a wide berth. Thank you for your continued cooperation and we look forward to opening some lift accessed turns soon for you.
Thank you for your cooperation
