I recently upgraded to newer pin bindings, and discovered a crack in the plastic of one of the old heel pieces. The old bindings are Dynafit Radicals and the crack is on just one of the heel pieces. Take a look at the attached pictures of the heel piece.

My question is this: Is this heel safe to ski as is, does it need some repair work, or is it unsalvagable and should be retired?

Let me know what you think!

You can probably keep using it for a while, but who knows? I wouldn't count on it in a serious line or big overnight trip. Try getting the part from skimo-co.

I had a cracked heel piece a few years ago. It seemed dynafit  had a return, not a recall. Sent it in thru  Pro ski seattle and got new heel piece for cost of  25.00 shipping. I would try Pro ski north bend .

Maybe try Pro Ski first but I doubt Dynafit is going to do much for an original Radicdal binding. I had a similar problem and I believe kamtron is correct. You can get that part here  and your shop of choice will throw the binding on the new brake/baseplate. Best of luck!
