2021 Patrol Race Lottery Is Open

Goodbye 2020 and hello 2021,
It has been quite the ride since the last Patrol Race was held on the weekend that Covid 19 turned the lights out on the west
coast, and as it turns out, didn’t blow over after just a few weeks.
 
So what do we do about a Patrol Race in2021?  One thing is for sure is that we will conduct the race in compliance with state, local and Mountaineer policies
regarding the current pandemic.  For your reference the current Mountaineers Covid response guidelines and code of

While we have all become more adaptable to changing plans, we at the Mountaineers do believe that with some evolution of the race
there seems to be a very good chance that we will be able to safely run the
race once again in 2021.  Without getting into too many details on how the race operations will evolve to maximize safety,
it is a given that the race will continue to be a very self-supported event in
a very outdoor space.  As with last year, your team will be entirely responsible for your own transportation and there
will not be any use of Meany Lodge for recovery or an awards ceremony.  Variations on how we do the start are also stillin work, but it will surely be a staggered start somewhat similar to what we
have done in the past.
 
Similar to last year, we will run the race the second week in March (March 13th, 2021).
 
Registration for the Patrol Race will continue to be restricted to teams who are granted entry via the lottery.  We are continuously considering ways toexpand the opportunity to participate in this race to as many of you as
possible and we thank you in advance for your interest in this unique
