Ski Tuning Kit - Recommendations? was created by Tex85
Hey All,
Looking to get a ski tuning kit this year for waxing our skis and was curious what everyone is using or prefers. I've seen some of the Swix kits, Toko kits, and the numerous on Amazon but am a bit torn on what to consider. I'm not looking for the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

All you need is a shitty old iron for waxing, gummy stone, a sharp file, and an edge bevel clamp to hold the file. I freehand the base bevel. The kits are usually pretty expensive for what they are.
If all you're doing is waxing, I'd just buy an iron and scraper and one or two temperature waxes. If cross-country skiing, it's worth it to get more elaborate, but AT doesn't require much attention to detail.
