Blizzard Zero G 85 vs. Rossi Seek 7 Tour ?

Finally decided to add a narrower spring skiing ski to the quiver -- after way too many hours reading stuff online, I settled on either the Blizzard Zero G 85 or the Rossi Seek 7 Tour. Both have similar sidecuts and weights, though the Rossi's are a tad heavier. People seem to love the Zero G's but I worry they might be too light for steep icy descents. Does anyone have experience with one or both of these skis and could make a recommendation?

For context, I normally ski much wider (and heavier) skis (BD Boundary 107s).

Lightweight and narrow skis usually work fine in steep and icy conditions. Where you pay the price is with heavier, deeper snow, like the wet mank that likely coats much of the Cascades now.

I haven't skied a lot of Rossi skis lately but a lot of their skis are less traditional than the Blizzard. You might want to look at the Dynastar mythic line as well as K2 Wayback (I love these) and offerings from Hagan, BD, and various Euro brands. Down skis has a crazy sale right now.

Take a look at the Black Crows Ova Freebird, too. I have been skiing on a pair of them this spring and they've been amazing.  Featherweight - super fun to ski!

Thanks, those are good points. One of the reasons I was leaning toward the Rossi's is although the waist is about the same as the Blizzard 85s, the tip and tail have almost an additional cm each. Also, an update -- I got a sweet deal on the Rossi's so it looks like I made my choice. I'll report back on the results, since I couldn't find a reliable review online anywhere.

I got a pair of the Zero G 85s this year and have been loving them in spring snow, including in deep manky stuff which I've found they handle surprisingly well.

Another positive experience with the Zero G 85 - I have about 15 days on them this spring and they are rock solid on harder snow and steep terrain, amazingly confidence-inspiring despite the light weight.
