This is a followup to aaasen's recent trip report on the Isolation Traverse:

I got curious about changes to the McAllister Glacier in the years I've known it, so I dug out some photos. Looking at these pictures makes me appreciate what a magnificent glacier this was and still is (in a somewhat diminished state). It must be one of the very few Cascade glaciers, not on a volcano, that extends from the high alpine zone to below timberline. Some photos:
Gary Brill and Mark Hutson skiing the Isolation Traverse in March 1983:
View of the western arm of the glacier (and the icefall connecting to the lower glacier) during the 1983 Isolation Traverse.
View of both arms of the glacier in May 1994:
Late season view of the glacier in September 2005:
The glacier in May 2012, showing the discontinuous eastern arm:

The other thing I noticed as I was searching for photos is how bashful the McAllister Glacier is. You can't really see it from Isolation Peak. You have to be near Wilcox Lakes, or even farther into the McAllister drainage, to see both arms at once.
