Camping in vehicles of any sort is illegal around Whistler and actively enforced. Supposedly it's about not attracting bears. There are a couple of year-round RV parks nearby -- the overnight fees are somewhat less than the fine.

Basically Whistler-Blackcomb only wants people that are going to pay $300/night for a hotel room and spend a similar amount on drinks and dining.
