A favored ski off the Muir snowfield is the foray over to Nisqually. In late May we were there and the chute had slid maybe a week earlier leaving hard ice and it was looking real spooky. A week later (6/04) we went to the entry hoping it had improved but when my tips hit hard clear ice, time to back off. A fall might be fatal. So the recent news is a climber perished there but how / where things went bad, I can't say. Anyway, please be alert to the poor condition and with weather fluctuations we've had recently, I'd say things are still dicey, especially where it steepens and you're somewhat committed to it.
