I use the Halo II headband for mountain biking and it's been a game changer in the summer. I used to take my helmet off for long uphills due to sweat but now can comfortably leave it on the whole ride. Should have the same effect while skiing as well.

I also recommend the ThinkSport brand of sunscreen. Less greasy than the standard dept store stuff. It is a zinc oxide formulation though so you may appear "white" if you lather it on and don't rub it in well. But it beats the alternative of looking like a lobster afterward!

Both are available from REI.

I wear a buff or similar fabric tube to eliminate the gap above my sunglasses. Buff and goggles any time I think I can get away with it and not sweat out the goggs. With glasses I still have to apply some sunscreen between my eyes or risk getting a little burn spot right there. Very carefully though. My experience is sunscreen in the eyes can be totally blinding for long enough to derail trip plans.

Thanks all. I looked closer at my existing yhalo head band, and it is crack where the seal is, so you have motivated me to get a new one. And I will try the ThinkSport band. I wish I could wear googles, but I sweat too much. And yes the spot on the eyebrows straight above the nose is a problem. Maybe something like a welding face mask - I could look like darth vader.

It is pretty bougie, but I love all of SuperGoop's products. I will caveat this to say that: 1) I don't find them to be as strong as the typical sunscreen I've always bought from Walgreens/CVS, so I am militant about reapplying regularly. 2) It is kind of expensive and more of a beauty product than a functional/tough/outdoor-type product.

All of that said, I don't know why my eyes have gotten so dang sensitive to sunscreen in my old age and it has become such an annoyance that I'd rather just use what doesn't sting (for me, Supergoop) and put it on more often than I typically would other sunscreens.
