Snoqualmie Nordic report anyone? was created by dkoelle
Hey kick n gliders, supposedly Mt. Catherine loop was open today. Anyone go? Ollalie Meadows? or Nordic Pass trail breakers?

Mt Cathy loop groomed to relative perfection today (Sunday, 2/17 1pm exit) after being "closed" yesterday. A bit of pole punch due to lack of compaction and/or time since last grooming, but should set up really nicely this evening. No wind at WP.

Windy Acres not groomed since Friday; so did not travel uppermost trails (6"-8" fluffy top dressing; shuffler tracks headed up). But I suspect that this too will be buffed by Monday morn. I was skating (skied loop clockwise, exiting HV) and classic lanes looked great (VR40) throughout. Plenty of freshness but adequately fast skiing overall.

Finally enough snow to groom Ollalie Meadows loop but no sign of machine efforts there so far. Tomorrow maybe? Fingers crossed.

Minor avalanche debris adjacent to trail margins at bottom of Ripsaw dip (controlled recently? Ask Gib) but did not impact ski quality. Hidden Valley exit is A-1. Cold Creek trail better than usual choss. Slowshoe traffic still impacting ski quality; a never ending issue. Upper trail loops in fine shape, btw.

Overall excellent considering how much snow Steve has been dealing with. Hit it early. Get your Nord on...

Went up today, started @ Hyak, Cold Creek.  Ollalie Meadows was freshly groomed, so I went to the top and around the corner to lower Silver ridge to ~4600.  The mini meadows up there were nice, 6-8 inches ski penetration on firm powder base. There was enough snow to drop the Ollalie Meadows ad lib back to Windy Pass. Then back down Cold Creek and up Hidden Valley.  Overall a great day!
