Gook on bases worse this year?

I'm having the worst gook build-up this year. Anyone else notice this? I get a sticky film that doesn't slide well across the snow. I've experienced it at Mission Ridge, Mt Daniel, Lemah Mtn, Chiwawa Mountain, Colchuck, and Baker. Maybe I got a bad batch of wax? It is gooey like tar and hard to remove. I've started carrying a proper scraper. At home, I've been using a citrus solvent.

Yep. Easiest way to get it off is to hot wax / hot scrape. I was hot scraping after every outing earlier this spring.

This spring was the worst I've seen it in 20+ yrs of skiing the bc.
I did the same as Blizz to remove it.

I've had really good luck with Hertel's Spring Solution. Seems to do a better job of keeping gunk off than anything else I've tried.
