TAY in Faribanks? was created by Calvin
I just moved up to Fairbanks AK for graduate school and I am hoping to keep the TAY going. I have about 4 years under my belt and it would be a shame to break the streak. Obviously winter and spring are no problem, I could get turns out my door, the problem I foresee is mid summer where permanent snow is plentiful but much less accessible than the cascade volcanoes.

I'm looking for stoke and any advice from people who have lived and skied in the interior.

If all goes well Ill be able to get a few AK TRs up here.

The summit lake area had glaciers accessable from the hiway during the 70s I used to ski on . Hopefully theres something left.  Check in at the Harley-Polaris shop . ask for Chuckie or Hadad  .. tell them #33 says hi. X

I flew into the Kahiltna glacier basecamp with Denali-bound friends ~10 days ago.  Sheldon Air Service charged me $200 for the flight in and out with some time on the mountain.  The boys paid $500 round trip with all of their kit.
