What do you carry (if anything) for cutting cornices or putting someone on belay to make a ski cut? I've heard 6mm cordlette from 6m or 20ft to 30m or 100ft. 30m length of rope is getting into half rope terrain but I am interested to know if anyone carries a shorter length of cordlette for these purposes.

I have this
www.backcountrybomb.com
and a 55m long 5.5mm thick "Titan" / Dyneema static line / "Tailgunner" rope.
The knot hold of this line is wonky, so special knots are required.

Knot hold, as in you don't get the same friction with a munter hitch as you would with nylon or your standard sheeth/core rope?

Like Randy, I too have a backcountrybomb. A handy gadget.
For ski cutting and other on-belay and rappel related activities, I carry 100' of 5mm cord, a couple of 'biners and a bit of webbing in a throw bag like the river kayakers use.
I can usually figure out something from there.
