Alpental is running, but only 2 pads are operational at this time. The ice is bad. We'll be working on the site this week to get more pads going and at least break up the ice around them.

@FHNC-'the Beacon Training Park is a system created to make it easier to practice with your transceiver. It features six permanently buried transmitters wired to a central control panel. To change the scenario, you can just flick the on/off switches on the control panel. '

FYI- Alpental patrol has the Alpental Beacon Park reserved for training on January 20, 27, February 10, 11, 24, and March 3 from 0900-1300. Thanks

Don't be silly. The transceivers in those parks are transmitting, yes? A transmitting transceiver is a beacon. So is any transmitting gadget really.
