The main issue here seems: you can't fix stupid. There's a reason police officers, Firefighters, ERs workers, S&R will always have work. Probably most on this site don't fall under this category(preaching to the choir). Maybe the bigger culprit is the ski gear manufacturers pushing backcountry gear into the hands of every person off the street !
