Short turns in powder vs long. Some would say short to get more of the experience. Yet like Lowell, for me its about the rhythm. It is magical to me too, a total zen experience where I leave myself and just AM, in the moment. Like leading in rock climbing, I just AM. No worries, no thoughts. Just AM.
Bored. Nah. Never these days with 4 kids, a busy job and great skiing this winter.

Yes, Lowell's discussion of bounce and rhythm better captured much of why I like to do fairly tight turns than did my own comments on "float" (and joking about #of of turns). I suspect one's ski may also have something to do with it too, but I've not experimented with enough to confirm the hunch. Of course tight turns can alsobe quite useful in many below-treeline skiing situations. While there are some situations where I prefer bigger swoopier turns, I find myself returning to tighter sine wave track in most cases where it's possible. Pretty funny that anyone would posit one or the other mode of turning as superior though - seems like it's just about what we each dig most (as long as one isn't hung up on spooning of tracks for hyper-efficient slope farming, which has a way of constraining one to someone else's rhythm).

Speaking of interesting topics/discussion (or lack thereof) - where the heck is Amar?! What happened to the in depth weather and snow info?!
