Thanks to all for the helpful info, glad to hear from the die hards!
The promise of fine skiing on Sahale sounds awesome, but I'll more than likely be alone for this mission so anything but minimal glacial travel is likely not the smartest.
Was there at least a ribbon of skiable snow atop heliotrope ridge proper?! the photo here just cuts it out (first pic from the 8/3/15 report): mtbakerconditions.blogspot.com/2015/06/coleman-deming-2015.html

^I was up at Heliotrope Ridge about 3 weeks ago and the bottom 300-400 vertical feet was glacial ice. I figured there was about 500 - 600 vertical feet of okay skiing before reaching the ice, but I think it may be much less than that now.

Ptarmigan Ridge (west of Artist Point near Mt Baker ski area) is usually a good late summer destination, but I wouldn't be surprised of the snowfields are down to bare ice this year.
