As a former PNWer I still check out this forum. Good stuff. Since it's July I figured that you freaks are the only ones still thinking about skiing, and since I just got around to cobbling together these gopro clips, I thought I'd post here and that some of you might be interested (?). If not, sorry!!
Anyway, another dry year overall, but there were a couple of all-time cycles in March and April, along with a bunch of refreshes in May, that kept the hardcores happy. A lot of locals around here are climbers first and skiers second (understandably), so finding partners psyched to get after it when it's not easy can be rough (thanks to Ryan F and Sue
. There were lots of good days in the backcountry around June, Mammoth, Tioga, and Bishop; you just had to work for it. The resorts weren't always awesome, but the steeps in the backcountry delivered.
I hope that you had an amazing season in the PNW, and prey for snow!

Thanks for the video of The Eastern Sierra. For the past 12 years, Jill and I have enjoyed The Eastern Sierra in late March, April and May. Driving to 10,00' in late April and then putting on the skins, and go higher. The past to years have been "light" but there is next season.
Thanks!
