Intel wanted on Twin Lakes Couloir was created by r1de
Hi All,
I've seen this one from Silver Peak a couple times and wondered about it, then saw the thread here with the video. I'd like some more info on the approach - as many details as possible. Also, any recent conditions reports.
Thanks!

You would take road 9070 when it melts out a bit but then the couloir is not always in. In winter or now you can take the nordic trail system from Hyak and skin to twin lakes then up from there.

To be clear, we're talking about the Zipper couloir, right?
If so, Lisa's approach is dead-on. It'd be a long tour via the nordic trails and I'd imagine there'd be some carries on that route... not much snow left below 4k, esp. on those west-facing aspects.
I believe the common route to the top is to climb right up the line. That way you know what you're getting into on the descent and have some idea of where the snow thins out. Elev. at the bottom is ~3200' and top ~4800'. Not a whole lotta vert, but it's more or less straight-up and NNW-facing so it could be pretty firm even on a warm day.

I have gone up the right side and also toured up and over Roaring Ridge to get a run in before climbing up the back side. It makes a fun loop.
