The only thing dying is the ability of some of our younger members to spell correctly.

Bwah ha ha ha!!!!!

Trends come and go. Snowboard sales are down but Splitboard sales are way up.

Wouldn't say dying if sales went from 5 million to 3 million, just down.

To be fair, Kyle...to anybody who is involved in marketing, product development or running a business dependent on selling a product to this market, a drop of that magnitude (5m to 3m) would be considered dying, and dying fast. :P I'm guessing that is not a real number though?

I don't think snowboarding is dying in any way though; that seems like a strange conclusion.

... If we could only get the bobsleds to race four at a time.

I'd be tempted not only to watch the Olys, but may travel to them if that were the case. Like Ice Dancing on Thin Ice...

Here's the thing, California is a HUGE share of the snowsports industry in the US, somewhere around half. CA resorts are dominated by snowboarding, they outnumber skiers by far. Give CA 3 bad seasons and of course sales will drop. It's pretty simple.
