Chugach/AK forum? was created by Jonn-E
I'm spending some time in Alaska and will have a few days were my planned partners are busy and I'm either solo or need to find someone in the local community. Trouble is, I can't find that community (on the internet). Apparently they used to congregate at telemarktips.com but since that site went down where did they go?

Earn Your Turns has a Valdez thread going.  Maybe he can steer you towards some other sites to help you out.  Good luck, have fun! And there's always TGR...if you are core enough:)

Matt Kinney (Valdez Telehead on Teletips) is a Valdez local and a backcountry guide up there.

My wife and I met him years ago when touring around Thompson Pass. He's a really nice guy- could be worth contacting him directly since I'm not sure where he's posting now that Teletips is gone.

That thread in EYT that I mentioned above is Matt's. He posts in it almost daily.

Thanks folks! Should have mentioned I'll be Anchorage side. I WISH I was going to Valdez though. Spent two summers riding around in the same helicopter TGR used back in the day, staring at the rocky peaks they rode. It's been killing me for a decade and skiing a steep Valdez spine is on my life list.
