Black Diamond Traverse Ski poles

I seem to break the lower section at least once a year. Does anybody else have this problem? I'm thinking about giving up on them and going back to nonadjustable poles.

On the positive side, replacement lower sections are always in stock at my local shop.

not certain if this will help but I'll throw it out there.... Depending on the price you can get them for, assuming a BD hiking pole is cheaper than actual traverse lowers... I noticed I could slide the lower half of my BD (3 piece) hiking pole into my new BD whippet. I had scored the BD hiking poles on amazon.com for ~$60 (IIRC) a year ago.
