They're hoping to get the Magic Carpet and Little Thunder open based on an email my kid got about instructor training. Gnarly terrain.

They were also taking the snow from the parking lots to put on the hill- too bad it was the sledding hill though.

This is something that White Pass is known for. It would behoove the Summit to mow their lower slopes down to a grassy alp to better endure years like this. Sheets of plywood bridging the drainages(also seen at White Pass) would be a big help to getting things started.

Out east, places like Sunday River do all that plus have plenty of hay on hand to plop on bare patches that appear both early and late season. And, like Whistler, an impressive array of snow guns and plenty of water to feed them.
