Always wanted to ski something around Mt. Jefferson and with the current low tide and upcoming high pressure it seems likely I might be able to make it a good way up skyline road. How high up do you guys think a high clearance 4x4 could make it up skyline road on Thursday/Friday?

Was thinking of just ambling up to park ridge for the views and heading back.

hmmm. not sure here either but curious. Can probably drive to 3000-3500ft? Wondering myself how far one could drive up Pamelia Lk Rd..thinking darn close to the TH if not to it. Floating an idea with some friends to go after Jefferson's west rib on Thursday. Probably an abortion of a trip with our snow levels, great place to lose the day going from PCT/milk ck up to timberline over horrible coverage shwack.. only to find an obstacle course of poor ski coverage or crusty surface I dont want to touch on that slope with skis.

park butte sounds more chill [aka fun].. hehe

Yea I didn't bring my kit with me so I am just going to take it easy and do something with the greatest chance of success. My friend just reported that Apex Mountain has received 6 inches in an hour and a half and it is still snowing...(photo evidence was provided) I do not know why I went back to Portland.
