Alternative Avalanche Beacon Harness/Strap Option?

Over the last decade, I have grown to hate my DTS avalanche beacon strap-to-body system. It really is annoying as it goes over the neck on one side and doesn't want to stay stable on my body...

I am thinking of some kind of an chest harness alternative?!?

Does anyone have any alternative ideas? Preferably something I could buy?

Thanks! Praise Ullr!

Matt

Some people girth hitch the leash to a burly belt loop and zip the beacon into a dedicated pants pocket. I've been trying that out this season; it's more comfortable and efficient than the chest harness. Unless I discover countervailing evidence, I'm probably going to continue to do so.

The only apparent downside is the loss of the utility of a good pocket.

Do the ones with motion/heart monitoring (Mammut) care where they're mounted ?- not able to test this personally..  Am inclined to keep it plastered right between my nipples till I know otherwise.  If you're good with your mark, you'll also be closer to my airway.

That said, I throw it in my pants pocket, too, maybe half the time, which does seem more comfy and quicker to launch - which is the other half of the point.  And this way, you don't get caught up in that lift line / lunch counter poser shit on those sidecountry days..  ;)

For sure on the front pocket. Eddie Bauer First Ascent and Outdoor Research make pockets in some of their pants for your beacon with a fob inside the pocket to connect the beacon to so you don't have to loop it on your belt. I like it since I keep my phone in my jacket's chest pocket and that leaves a lot of room between the two for any interference. It's also so much more comfortable snug in a pocket.
