Hey,

I'm mulling over some headlamp/night skiing turns tomorrow (11/3) afterwork.

How are the conditions up there? Anybody skin up there today?

I get off at 4:30ish in west seattle.

don't do it. unless of course you're of the masochistic persuasion and truly enjoy hiking+post-holing a lot...
skimpy--mostly non-skinnable--coverage for at least 1K vert if not more.

Any dawn patrollers up at Alpental or West today? I saw that they got some new accumulations overnight. Was hoping for a pre-work session early Wednesday or Thursday.

West got nowhere near the good accumulation seen around the state.  Dust on crust, with the added bonus of all the big holes and rocks exposed over the weekend are now covered up.

But then again, skiing is usually always worth it and you might get surprised :D.

Ultimately though I agree with Cumulus.  Anyone worried about wasting gas $, or their carbon footprint, might want to stay home.
