Add rocker to old skis?

With a heat gun, clamps, and courage you can add some rocker or early rise to an old pair of skis.    blog.hillmap.com/2013/10/adding-rocker-t...ock-skis-tr-and.html

Anyone done this with K2 skis?  Shuksans?

btw Hillmap is awesome for custom maps and slope angles at specific areas.

I did almost exactly the same thing with pre-rocker k2 backups (c. 2010), using a waxing iron in lieu of a heat gun; I lacked the equipment and/or chutzpa to use a heat gun.

Anyway the results are much more subtle. My application of heat was limited to soaking thru from the top, and fear drove conservatism about how much strain was okay to subject the skis to.

I'd be interested to hear how it goes with the Shuksans if you go down that road. That could make the late spring days a little better in the afternoon when everything's overcooked.

I have done it to black diamond foam core skis. I used a heat gun, which are cheap and handy for other things. I would hesitate to try this on skis with a metal layer.

Well if adding rocker doesn't work for you, you could always just learn to ski
