I'm looking to add a pair of soft shell pants to the ski closet. Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation on a pair that won't break the bank. I've been looking at the OR Traibreakers and Cirques. Both are more than I want to spend, especially the Trailbreakers, but might be worth the money if fit and durability are good. I'm also open to purchasing used if someone has pair they'd like to part with that are in good condition. I'm a 33/34x30.

I was also considering the Golites. I have the Golite Badlands Trinity jacket and really like it. I've hesitated because the fit on pants can be particularly funky and now that Golite is completely online, there is no where to try them on. Have you worn them?

I have been in soft shell and soft shell type pants (wool) for all my skiing life 50+ years, the new 1st accent Nail driver pant seem to be working great. I still ski in my older P Guide Pants just to upset my son and wife, but the Nail Driver are very well made, Sherpa has a nice pant a little on the slim cut side, but good.
I do have shell pants, but seldom use them.

Yes I have. Fits me OK, YMMV. I got mine last year and using them with long underwear them seemed too hot. Tried them again last weekend with just briefs and the warmth was about right for me ( I run hot though)

I've been really stoked on my OR Cirques. With a mid weight baselayer they are perfect for mid-winter touring or without for warmer weather. OR also has good customer service and since they're located in Seattle its easy to get repairs or warranties.
