Finding snow for Saturday was created by wafflehound
I was out of town in early October and missed all of the fall fun. I now find myself running out of month and risking my 82 month streak. Doh!
Has anyone run over Chinook pass over the last week? At this point I am not opposed to grass/rock skiing. I have limited time available on Saturday so a Muir trip probably isn't in the cards. I looked at the telemetry and it looks like there are a few inches, but I am always leery of low level readings.
Anyone have any suggestions? Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers!

I would love to hit Helitrope but not sure if the round trip +hike can be done in time. Curious if there is anything left at all at Chinook or if I should get the running shoes out and jog up to the Pebble patch.
At this point I don't care what I ski on as long as it is frozen
. I really messed up this month!
Cheers,

Facing similar time constraints with pre-existing Saturday plans has my crew doing some distributed camping tonight near the TH so we can make a dawn patrol happen. You are welcome to join us this evening - we'll be rolling in around 11pm. Recent reports indicate stellar sugary snow on the ridge, which even with the limited elevation available, should make for some sweet October laps.
