We have a few spots open - avalanche season is upon us - get a jump on your decision making and avalanche safety education early in the year ! Sign up for the Everett Mountaineers AIARE 1 course soon! Check out a picture posted by Chris Morin of a skier triggered avalanche at Stevens Pass yesterday. This was a close call. Come learn strategies for preventing close calls and accidents.

Here's a vote of support for the course and some more info from the weekend.

Blueberry Chutes near Mt Baker ski area was active yesterday and today and I heard that things were moving on other aspects too.  I should have taken a picture but our group was already moving and I didn't want to hang out in that spot to dig out my camera.

Putting in another note of support for this excellent course (I took it a few years ago).  Oyvind and co. do a great job of teaching everyone, of all skill levels, how to make safe decisions appropriate for your level of risk tolerance in avalanche terrain.  And have a fair bit of fun while doing so!  Can't recommend this course enough.
