Gravity never sleeps was created by Charlie Hagedorn
The newfallen snow has me jonesing for turns; might make some this week. High winds, dense snow, uncertain bed surfaces, and an unknown bond ask for caution. Several of the scariest things I've seen happen on skis have been on hard autumn bed surfaces in October and November. One nearly cost me a beloved ski partner.
Phil Fortier's 2004 avalanche is in my thoughts this week as I consider a ski outing. With this much water and wind, our full gamut of winter hazards are possible, in somewhat unfamiliar ways.

Very best wishes for a safe and fun season, TAY!

Thanks for the reminder, Charlie. I'm excited about the snow, yet I think maybe the best place for me right now is at my desk.

Great reminder, Charlie.
I came a hair's breath away from breaking my femur in early season snow.
There's a lot of additional ways to get hurt skiing the first few season dumps, that slowly diminish as the base settles.
