Mt Bachelor, spring pass was created by all mtn
- talkin' skiin' today, apparently Bachelor offers a fair priced spring pass, $170. And they have extended operating the upper lift, into May that gives access to all aspects (and is off-piste). My friend was sayin' the vertical is incredible (3,000). Hours of operation are 9 to 2. I thought Mammoth Mtn, 11,000 ft, and the Sierra has some of the best May corn, but I think this beats it. Of course, weather is always important in gettin' the corn! After skiin', he then said he goes mtn biking. So the runs gotta be smooth...

Seems like a great deal if you live nearby. As you probably know there is little that is very :steep: on this cone. For me, I like the way there is little commercial development or neon near the base of the mountain, and the beautiful views to the Three Sisters. Similar to Mt. Hood Meadows in that way. Bend and area retain their natural charms despite all the development in the last few decades, it is an outdoor paradise.

The pass was available for $149 during their 96hr sale in March this last year.
My kids have a race at Bachelor at the end of April/beginning of May so we've gone down there 4 yrs in a row now, and I think it's gotten better- this last year the NW chair was still open, meaning the steapest terrain and the best falline at Bachelor ~2400vt was still skiable. The summit chair is still prone to wind/weather closures, but withthe right timing there is some grerat corn down to the top of NW. Maybe not as good we had 30" of new over 3 days at the beginning of May a few years ago...

- thanks for the info on the steepness. I haven't ski'd there for a long time. But, when it comes to good corn snow, almost any pitch is good. You just have to adapt your turns to the slope. Granted, 40 degree slopes are ideal. - peace
