Quoted above:
"I once had a marmot destroy my pack straps for the salt while I was lapping Hurricane Hill." We had them do the same thing near Sahale Pk. Left the packs at high camp to do a short evening climb. We could see the Marmots getting curious below but only found that they had chewed 2 pack shoulder straps for the salt when we descende. Very inconvenient but evidently, not uncommon when around Marmots!.
