good skiing is often the result of radical water transformations...

I dont know.. but.. I think you may be right about the chantrelle theory. Last fall was pretty good...as was the winter.
We were just doing a recap of the Winter...
Awesome December, Awful Jan, Feb..unless you like Spring skiing in the deep of Winter and March was OK, but no Lion. Still we lucked out with a long enduring snowpack despite the long drought. I would call the Winter season spotty after December.

I'm only giving this winter a 5.5/10...... as we were discussing, Dec was 8/10, Jan and Feb 4/10, March a 6/10 that gives a .55 average.....there was not enough powder in Jan and Feb to make it a good year ( although we expect a drought for part of Jan) and March came in too late. It was OK but not a great season....Jan and FEb need to get their act together for next year.

Will the big minus tide next Sunday (-5.0 or lower in places) have any effect on skiing conditions around the area? We know, for a fact, that a good chantrelle crop in the fall foretells a great ski season, but what about a good clamming tide? Could a person conceivably be Goeducking-All-Year? I love skiing under a full moon, so maybe that has something to do with it? I don't know, just asking.. ???
Having no training in the natural sciences or research methodology, I feel uniquely qualified to boldly proclaim that next Sunday's -5.0 tide will absolutely correlate with a deep powder 2013/14 skiing season. No doubt about it. As a matter of fact, I am already in the market for a new set of snow tires (putting my money where my mouth is). Get prepared everybody!
