Yeah, not looking good. Seems like it's been on borrowed time for a while.

Bruce, I'll dedicate a day to you this season if I can get out more than half a dozen times! Not my best ski year, 2013...

Whoa. That's news. TTips has been a great resource for years. Lots of history there amongst the chatter.

Archive.org's last hit for ttips was in April. They may have archived subject lines, but not forum posts:

It's finished?!  www.earnyourturns.com/18701/telemarktips...rip/?fb_source=pubv1     Interesting that Dostie found the site argumentative, it pales in comparison to TGR.

Darn, that site sure has lots of valuable details about where to ski in South America and Europe, as well as great ski reviews.  Hope someone figures out how to save it.

Thank you Charles for passing TAY to Marcus, and to Marcus for keeping it alive! I'm glad that TAY is a community, not a one man show.

If it wasn't argumentative, it wouldn't be entertaining.

"The last three years the site has been a tumorous replica of its once vibrant self, full of meaningless, off topic threads that inevitably devolved into childish tantrums of trading insults among the hundred or so regulars who refused to leave until the plug was pulled."

That was about the time I got voted off the island - couldn't access my account after trying to change my email address and Mitch never responded . . .

I haven't visited ttips for a while and then only to view some of the community ski reviews. The really good site was Telemarque.com! I remember when Mitch started to horn in on that site and try to attract viewers to his site. The Telemarque site folded when its originator graduated from college or something. It was kind of a friendly, down-home site; Ttips was a little more ego driven; I didn't stick around enough to see the juvenile stuff mentioned above. RIP. Telemark is dead.

The tone on that forum had certainly taken a turn for the nasty over the last year. But I did get good advice about bindings there just a month ago. And I'll have to find a new source for "Telemarking is Stupid" bumper stickers. I'll miss some things about that place.
