that is one downfall of splitboards. so much stuff on the topsheet, which means lots of snow buildup.
its a bummer, but thats life! ive overcome alot more while in the mountains.

LukerBee, that is a crazy boot system you are using currently. It looks like the DIY rigs we'd ride in the late 80s. No wonder you are looking for a change. Perhaps you should give soft boot snowboarding another try, this time with modern equipment. Get stiff snowboard boots and a decent split binding system such as sparks or voile rails.
Of course there are benefits to riding hard boots, such as front point crampon compatibility but there is reason that 99% of snowboarders use soft boots. They are comfortable and allow a full range of motion. I'd guess they result in an overall lighter split board system but I haven't done a scale based comparison.
I just hate so see you bail on the joy of soft boots when you may not have given a try to the full range of options we have today.
Buell, that is a dope looking setup...

What size feet? I was going to make flower pots out of them but I have a usable pair of tlt 7s you can have. I think somewhere around 8.5. They did me very well for a a few years.

Your point is well-taken Chuck. Obviously, I am riding old crap. Scary really, how much mileage I have used it since starting to ride again.
What kind of touring brackets there buell?

That's funny LukerBee, I did not even realize that was your current set up in the photo. Guess I did not read close enough.
As Chuck says, if you want a drastic improvement and want to stay in softboots, get some Sparks or Karakorams and a stiff pair of softboots.
I am using the toe piece of a Dynafit binding that I got from Will at Spark R&D a couple of years ago. He sells an adapter bracket and just the toe piece. It looks like John at Phantom bindings is going to offer an adapter and the toe piece of a smaller and lighter Dynafit this coming season, so I am looking forward to switching to that.

That is love brother! Too many memories to just ditch them. Just to keep the yard quirky, I think I am going to go full on stick man topiary.
