AT boots for small feet? was created by EJ
I'm thinking about making the switch from splitboarding to AT skiing. What's held me back in the past is the lack of small AT boots (that take tech bindings.) My alpine ski boots are size 22 (Salomon and optimally, they'd be a bit smaller). As far as I can tell, no one makes a size 22 AT boot, so the best I might be able to do is go with 22.5.
My question is, are there any brands that run a bit smaller than typical sizing? I'm just looking for generalities here because I don't have the luxury of walking into a local ski shop and trying on boots. I'm likely going to have to do the mail order/try on/return cycle.
Is there anything I can do with custom liners to take up volume?

Most of the 22's are built on 23.5 shells with different liners, or in some cases the same liners with different ink on them (they heat form to size).

try the dynafit tlt5 mountain womens AT boot; it comes in 22.5 with the TFX liner (only partially thermomoldable); the shell is the 23-23.5 shell but boot tends to run just a little narrow and a little short; try it with a SOLE footbed to take up a little volume (or get it custom fit by someone like Jim Mates
Custom Boot Service
in Seattle using something like a Intuition ProTour--but consult with him first on the telephone to see what he recommends).

Thanks for the info! I'm a little more hopeful that I can find something that works.

I have a low volume foot and really liked the fit and feel of the Blink. Also, I concur with using a thermoformable liner that is a size larger than normal to take up volume. That has worked well for me. Good luck.
