THIS is why I (and others) travelled from Pilchuck to Alpental:
Yes, the views were a bit nicer at Alpy vs. Pilly, for some reason...

Depends on the trees.and how close they are to you descent. Above timberline very rare. i now carry a scraper and we also now check our skis before donning skins. Ski steep and scape often! It will pass soon .

Thanks Robie for bringing us back to the real topic of this thread and for finding the previous discussion that I had failed to turn up!Depends on the trees.and how close they are to you descent.
