The skis that Kneel Turner posted over in your WTB thread look mighty tempting. At $140, with skins, what could go wrong?
It's a solid deal and much appreciated. However, the remount would be tricky because of the close proximity of holes. I'm remounting with TLT speeds and I'm pretty sure there isn't enough adjustment in the binding to use the previous holes. Re drilling is most likely necessary and it may be too tight. It would also be the third mount. All this, coupled with really good BD prices, has me considering other options.

Skiing corn 76mm is plenty -- glop and mush -- a wider ski is nice -- but the Stigma is just 4mm wider at 80mm waist.
I've never skiied either -- but I have skied the BD Machine -- which came out of the same mold as the Stigma, but had more layers of fiberglass and quite a bit stiffer. The Machine/Stigma shape has a lot of sidecut -- enough that sidehilling on steep firm was kind of a pain. Also a little hard to release the edge and start the next turn.

As I posted in a yard sale thread, my Atomic Kongurs are headed to retirement. I have found a few good deals on the BD Stigma and Guru. I love the idea of a 5lb ski in the Guru for big tours, but I'm a little concerned about the 75mm waist. The Stigma looks comparable to my Kongur. Any thoughts on these skis individually and/or compared to one another from those who have skied them? Either would be a dedicated spring/summer volcano ski. Thanks!
My spring skis are Stigmas, which replaced a pair of World Pistes. The Stigmas are light enough for me, but they also require a bit more attention with weight distribution during turns. I haven't noticed the edge release issue Randy describes, but I can relate to his experience with steep sidehilling on the uptrack. Ski crampons resolved that issue for me.
I like my Stigmas, and would not go back to the WP's, given the choice.

Pulled the trigger on the Stigmas for $179. Thanks for the input.
