My wife and I were thinking about going to check out Mt. Catherine this Saturday, March 30. Has anyone been out there recently or know how the snow conditions are like? Really curious how things are with the recent warm weather. Thanks for any info ya'll can provide in advance!

I was at Alp today. Got there at 2 PM. What was groomed on Chair 2 was perfect, soft corn on top of a good firm base. Anything off piste South facing was interesting, as in soft, sinkable corn, but skiable. That is until the bottom part of The Fan.  Keep in mind this was post 2 PM, but anything South below about 4400'-4500' is going to be nasty. Difficult to say what it may be like earlier in the day.
North facing - International - was great corn conditions (huge moguls, Adrenaline was good, 6" corn or so.)
You will want to get out early, have an early lunch while it primes-up and ski North facing. The tradeoff is the trip out is going to be bad. Best bet will be to go back to Summit Central and ski down groomed runs out, or maybe Hyak but their done running groomers there.

Went out to Silver Peak via Nordic Pass today. Snow was nicely skinnable. Didn't glop up on the skins. For skiing I think it'd be pretty good. Try to get an early start. Even though its north facing the freezing level is going up pretty high. It got fairly heavy this pm so I'd expect the same Saturday. There's a good skin track that starts just up from the bottom of the Hidden Valley lift. If you can't find it you will once you cross the bridge. There was someone heading up there when we turned off for our trip.

I was up on Catherine today, but turned around prior to the last pitch towards the top because I came across a fairly decent sized wet slide in the woods. Looked like it started with a cornice fail above and slid into the woods catching some momentum. I was by myself exploring the area for my first time and notching another month of skiing so I stopped at that point and headed back retracing my tracks. Didn't want to deal with any wet slides in the woods by myself. The snow from 10-12 in the morning in the trees was heavy and the snow on hyak/groomers skiied awesome all day.

There is a snow bridge right behind the chair lift on the backside of hyak that may remain intact for the next few days (max) that you can use to still cross the creek as opposed to heading west to cross.

It's really warm out there.
