Side trip suggestions along Wapta Traverse

Trying to come up with an itinerary and book the huts so wondering what mountains along the traverse can be done as day trips, requiring a 2nd night at a hut. Not looking to do any peaks harder than 3rd class. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just be careful of all terrain on the Wapta--especially the areas around Mt. Balfour. The longer summers in the Rockies are making events like this more common. We never roped up on the Wapta 20 years ago. Now it is commonly done.

It depends on where do you start and how many days you have. Peyto has some great skiing that gets less pressure than Bow hut area . Bow hut base gives you the most variety (Mt Gordon,St Nick,Mt Olive)
but it's also most crowded. Balfour has some hidden gems and we skipped Scott Duncan altogether.
