Both.. it's not even a close comparison between the reactor, jb and whisperlite. XGK or dragonfly might put out similar heat but are way more fiddly, heavy and tedious to setup, also they're awful in strong wind especially if they need to be primed.

tvash: are you comparing the reactor to the jetboil or to the whisperlite?

We skied up to Muir on Saturday and stayed overnight. It was pretty windy on Saturday and very windy on Sunday. We used the Reactor hanging in our tent vestibule. It was mostly shielded from the wind and the temp was probably in the low 30s.
Out of one 230 gram Isobutane/Propane canister, we got 11 liters (original post mistakenly said 9) of boiled water plus 2 liters of warm water. This was perfect for 2 climbers who drink a fair amount for a 24 hour period. I would probably take 2 of those canisters plus an extra 100 grams per person for a 4 day ski trip where melting snow was the only source of water.
The last 2 boils were in the public shelter since the stove was swinging like a monkey in the morning from the wind. We were done eating and drinking before most of the dragon flies and XGK were even ready with their water. The ease of use alone is going to make my other stoves lonely widows in the gear bin.
