North Fork Teanaway - access? was created by russ
Has anyone been up the north fork road yet? I'm coming over with a group from Spokane and have targeted April 6/7 weekend, hoping for enough snow melt to get up Beverly Creek road to Bean Basin.
How's the snow levels in general for Cle Elum area?
TIA, Russ

No current beta for you, but in past years it's been early June before I've been able to drive to somewhere along the side road that goes to the Beverly/Bean trailhead. There is one stretch of road that is well-shaded before you get to the Beverly Creek turnoff that is slow to melt out.
We'll have to plan an east-meets-west ski reunion sometime, Russ!

I was out there today. The road is still closed at the snow park. They logged this winter, so snow depth is lower than normal on the road up to Beverly. It will likely melt out earlier than usual, but probably not drivable by early April. Snowpack in the alpine seems about normal. Looked at Stuart from Long's Pass today. All the usual ski lines are fat.

Hi Jim - we'll definitely have to do the east-meets-west. I miss the crew!
I got pictures of skiing Earl in early April, but also early May - both times with access close to the trail head. FS predicts the main road will be open to Beverly Creek, but the side branch like to be snowed in...
We'll see - if anyone else gets updated info please post it.

Sorry, Russ - I meant early MAY. I had a brain fart.
I recall seeing folks being able to drive in by late April in at least one lower-snow year, and there are others who have done the road schlog or have gotten in via sleds in April as well. Would be nice if the logging operations were a short-term game changer that allowed us drive-up access to tours like Earl a bit earlier than normal - it would be nice to have a slightly longer season around that area.

Skiers working with loggers... could be the start of a beautiful relationship..lolWould be nice if the logging operations were a short-term game changer that allowed us drive-up access to tours like Earl a bit earlier than normal - it would be nice to have a slightly longer season around that area.
