Hey Everyone,
Thursday, February 28th is the fourth session in our Going Deep series put on the Friends of NWAC. The session is titled : Backcountry Risk Management and Communication - Lessons from the Aviation Industry. The session will be hosted at the OR store in Seattle.
Join us for an evening with Julian Pridmore-Brown, Deputy Director of the Wallowa Avalanche Center, commercial pilot and FAA-designated pilot examiner, as he leads an interactive workshop on how backcountry travelers can improve decision-making and communication by using techniques from the aviation industry.
Intended Audience: Recreationalists who have had at least Avalanche Level 1 training and have had a chance to put their skills to practice will gain the most from this class. All forms of backcountry travel - skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, and snowmobilers - are encouraged to attend.
We ran this workshop in Portland last week and it was very well received with people getting some new and relevant techniques for backcountry skiing decision making.
