Roadtrip to Revelstoke info was created by e-burghero
My wife and I are currently planning a week long roadtrip toward Revelstoke, BC and Rogers Pass.  This is our first time going up to Canada for skiing and we are largely unfamiliar with the area.  We are planing on doing mostly backcounty (with a few days at Revelstoke) and I thought this would be a great place to get some info on the backcountry either on the way to or at Rogers Pass.

On a side note, we are traveling with our campervan and any info for "camping" spots that are dog friendly would also be welcome.

Thanks

Nice choice for a road trip. If you go this week you may even get some great conditions in the BC. Aahh Monashee cream. When you get into town just have a look around the surrounding mountains and you will be able to see some of the local lines. Look to the Burnt Knob for some great steep glade skiing. This area is accessed via the cross country ski area at Mt McPherson. I could say more but then I would have to kill you. :) Have a great trip.

When we visited Revelstoke (2 years ago) we had no problem car camping in town. It is pretty laid back and quiet and we just parked on a residential street and went to sleep. You can car camp at Rogers Pass with no problem. We skied the ski area at Revelstoke and had a great time. It snowed 14" overnight and still the only line we stood in all day was the gondola at the bottom. I think it was a Monday. I can't imagine it has changed too much in two years although you could see the condos and mansions beginning to sprout then. At the pass there is an information center that sells a guidebook and is staffed witha ranger that can recommend places to ski and inform you of which zones are open or closed for avalanche control. Enjoy!
