Naneum Ridge recreation planning was created by glenn_b
This was totally off my radar until I ran into a WDFW friend at my daughter's soccer practice. DNR and WDFW are developing a 10-15 year recreational plan for ~230,000 acres between Ellensburg and Wenatchee along the Kittitas/Chelan county line. There is a website -

They are soliciting input. Perhaps some non-motorized zones for winter recreation could be established. The Marion/Clara Lake area leaps to mind. Contact DNR's Dana Leavitt with your suggestions -

Good call! I'm not familiar with this area but this is the time for those that are to get involved and shape the plan to fit their needs. I bet its no walk in the park but way easier at the beginning than trying to reshape it later.

Talked with DNR's Dana Leavitt today re the planning process for this area. He confirmed that Clara and Marion Lakes are within the area under consideration. Non-motorized designation here would give skiers and snowshoers a quiet, attractive destination with easy access similar to Pipe Creek and the upper Tronsen basin at Blewett Pass. He said numbers would count when considering the various options. Make your voice heard -
