The owners learned something even if the dog didn't.

Qur short hair was found in very haggard shape and obviously either abandoned or long lost. So he went to Jackson Hole and Sun Valley on his first "road trip" and had a blast. But one thing we panicked over was when he took a straight bee line across an open field and just kept going. Close to 1/2 mile away he either changed his mind or heard us call and reeled around, returning. Since then he's been more mindful but I think there's something in the breed that makes them want to explore and wander. Glad Chloe is back home with you now in spite of her "adventure". Something folks who visit the early winter spires area may be more familiar with, we encountered a lone dog on a tour several years ago that followed us from the bottom of the long south facing slope (below Blue Lake col) Broadway? to the col above the hairpin. It had a small metal box on it's collar that a couple guys coming up the other side explained was a tracker. They weren't the owners but said the dog was known to hang up there. Cool dog and a darn fine buddy for a few hours.
