I was up touring around the Nisqually Chutes when I found a partially buried split board. If you lost one up on Rainier you can pm me.

Cheers

I could see where that board might have gotten away from someone. You could notify the Rangers if you haven't already in case of a way worse situation.

Reminds me of the time Regine and I booted up to McClure Rock packing our skis, in my case a brand-new never-skied pair of Tua Excalibur Mitos Special Edition (1 of 12 pair in the USA); we sat down to eat lunch, I put the skis tail first into snow ridge, turned around, and the only gust of wind of the day blew the skis out of the snow and the went rocketing down the mountain perfect parallel till they hit a cornice and one went left over the edge and one went right out of sight. I had a heart attack and pulmonary failure (just episodic). A few minutes later a snowboarder came up carrying my right-wing ski, it had come down and tried to go between his legs (on the snow :-)). Regine and I gingerly made our way down to the cornice expecting the worst, but is was stuck vertical just over the cornice, so I got to ski those skis after all!

I hope you find the split board owner! He must feel sick; he will feel even sicker if he has already bought a new split board!

Mattski - Were you ever able to return the splitboard to it's owner? Interested to hear the story on this one!

Have you solved the mystery? Missing climber or climber missing a board?
