Anyone willing to share info about skiing the ridge running west out of 49 Degrees N? Looks like the ridge is reachable from Flowery Trail Rd via a power line cut? I am thinking about skinning it Saturday. There must be escapees from the lifts hitting this area as it looks like good tree skiing on both north and south slopes.
It looks good. Be wary of the rain crust from last week. It's everywhere below 6000 feet. Also, last week, the trees warmed up and bombed ice everywhere. Conditions will be challenging until we get more snow.
When we get back to snow, I wouldn't mind hitting that area up. Have been poaching the side-country there for a while...yet, have not done the run you are looking at...seems like it hooks up with the old ski area?
